Bramble Hat

    The stitch pattern makes this hat very textured -- in dark purple it would look like a blackberry.  The stretchy stitch  makes a soft hat that won’t smoosh your hair.  The hat is knit inside out, and you may even decide to wear it that way on some days – the reverse side is an interesting lacey trellis pattern.

    This pattern is also available as part of the Textured Knit Hats Pattern Collection along with the Bas Relief Hat and Seeded Rib Hat for $10.00.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS:

Circumference: small 16.5” (large 19.5”)

MATERIALS:

160(200) yards worsted weight yarn

size 9 and 10.5 16" circular needles

size 10.5 double-pointed needles

Note: sample hat in Green Line Worsted was knit on size 6 and 8 needles -- be sure to check your gauge!

GAUGE: 4" = 22 sts by 24 rows in Bramble Stitch on larger needles (row gauge is not critical for this project)

Note: this yarn usually knits at 4” = 16 sts by 23 rows in Stocking Stitch on size 10.5 needles
