A herringbone stitch pattern creates
rich texture in this stylish cloche hat. Cloche style hats are wonderful for
framing your face and keeping your ears warm. This style with a half brim is
especially flattering, and can be dressed up with a ribbon rose
(instructions included) or another pretty brooch. Best of all, the brim is
constructed completely of knit fabric no plastic insert! so its soft
and flexible.
FINISHED DIMENSIONS:
adult extra small(adult medium, adult large)
Circumference: 20.5(22.25, 24)
GAUGE: 4 = 18 sts and 30 rounds in Woven Horizontal Herringbone Stitch on
larger needles
4 = 19.5 sts and 34 rounds in Tweed Stitch
Note: yarn shown usually knits at 14-18 sts to 4 in Stocking Stitch

120(135, 150) yards aran weight yarn
2 yards waste yarn
Size H or I crochet hook
size 9 circular needles 16
size 9 double-pointed needles

tapestry needle
MATERIALS FOR OPTIONAL RIBBON ROSE:
2 yards of 2 wide wired ribbon for 4.5 diameter rose (shown)
OR 1½ yards of 1½ wide wired ribbon for 3.5 diameter rose
Ό yard of 1½ wide velvet ribbon for leaves
sewing needle and thread in a color darker than your ribbon
1 bar pin back for small rose, 2 pin backs for large rose
