This scarf is crocheted out an incredibly soft yarn, and the irregular stripes keep it from looking too plain.  Use coordinating colors or try a bright contrast colorlike I did.  The peephole chevron stitch lends the stripes a saucy zigzag look and gives the scarf a serrated edge.
