I’m always on the lookout for vintage cloches and am invariably disappointed when they’re too small to fit my head. This crocheted version gives the requisite sleek look and the single crochet stitch lends necessary structure, keeping the iconic cloche shape even as it stretches to fit the wearer’s head. The cluster of buttons finishes off the vintage look. This pattern was originally developed for Artfibers' 2007 Design Collection.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS: 17"(19", 20.5", 22.25") Note: this style of hat should be 1-2" smaller than your head
MATERIALS:
140(160, 190, 210) yards aran weight yarn
size G crochet hook
1 removable stitch marker
2 buttons ¾" in diameter
1 button 1" in diameter
sewing needle and thread in color similar to yarn
GAUGE: 4" = 14sts by 12 rows in single crochet
Note: yarn shown usually knits at 16-20 sts to 4" in Stocking Stitch
